Story Portraiture : STREETPUNK IN INDONESIA : A SHORT STORY ABOUT US
(A few people in 1st generation Indonesian streetpunk music subculture)

Photo and Article by :
Syamsul Hadi

It all started from a struggle, hope, wishes and dream. Until at the end we are crucified and choose this way of life. Skinhead (Traditional skinhead, non racist skinhead, non political skinhead, just pure music, beer and a way of life) and streetpunk, a sub-culture that is growing side by side with the underground music culture.

This way of life that we have been living until now, is not merely lifestyle or making music, but we truly believe that this is our way of life. But also a story about a journey.
A journey of life and a journey of a struggle.
Nothing more and nothing less.
Exagerration is not needed.

We’re just a group of individuals with very simple mind set.
We live this way because we like it, that’s all, Period!!!

It’s all just a matter of life option, as simple as that.
This is our last option. It’s up to you not to listen to our music, we dont really care. It’s from us, for us and no strings attached.

All journeys are accomplished because of many sacrifice, a lot of us have to live with the risk, even the worst risk. In the end, people have been given the freedom to choose and we are fully aware with the path which we are walking now, yesterday or even until whenever it may be.

We like, we love, we are proud, we are living it until now and we are enjoying it as a story about a journey.
